A good overview of three main perspectives on the Russian interventions in Syria. This is Peter Lavelle’s show on RT.
Fred Fleitz, Center for Security Policy, represents the closest to the Obama-Kerry view that now has the upper hand in US policy in Syria. These seem ever more ready to throw over Turkey’s right-wing and the Houses of Sa’ud and Likud.
Jonathon Steele, from The Guardian, makes the very good point that the Kurds have most reason to worry about Russia’s campaign strategy to focus on relieving pressure on the Western cities and not on ISIS. He also suggests that by the same token of having suffered the brunt of ISIS attacks, they understand well the need to keep Assad strong and active attacking the Jubhat al-Nusra and other terrorist groups in their areas.
Eric Draitser, StopImperialism.org, is the third debater; he represents a position closest to mine.
Peter Lavelle, the American host, long has lived in Moscow. His CrossTalk is a flagship Russia Today program.
